About This Scheme

The scheme "Post Matric Scholarship to Lower Income Group Students for Studies in India" by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Haryana aims to provide financial assistance to students from the Lower Income Groups to enable them to complete their Education. Eligible students pursuing recognized post-matriculation courses in India are provided with maintenance allowances, tuition fees, and additional benefits like study tour charges and thesis printing expenses. The scheme is implemented by the Government of Haryana through recognized educational institutions.

Eligibility

1. The applicant should be a national of India. 1. The applicant should permanently reside in Haryana. 1. The applicant should belong to the lower-income group as defined under the scheme guidelines. 1. The applicant should have passed the matriculation or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university. 1. The applicant should be enrolled in a recognized post-matriculation course, such as: - National Fire Service College, Nagpur. - Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Course. - Courses at Training Ship Dufferin or Military College, Dehradun. - Pre-examination training courses for IAS/IPS, etc. _*Students in Class XI/XII under continuous school courses are ineligible unless the 10th class is equivalent to matriculation._

Benefits

Maintenance Allowances - ₹75/month for hostel residents and ₹60/month for day scholars pursuing degree courses in engineering, technology, medicine, architecture, and similar disciplines. - ₹65/month for hostel residents and ₹50/month for day scholars pursuing diploma/certificate courses in engineering, technology, or medicine. - ₹60/month for postgraduate courses in agriculture or community development (₹45 for day scholars). - ₹40/month for undergraduate courses like B.Sc., B.Com., or equivalent (₹27 for day scholars). Tuition and Other Fees - Coverage of mandatory fees, including tuition, library, games, medical, and examination fees, payable to the institution. Study Tour Charges - Up to ₹100 per year for professional courses, covering travel expenses (train, bus, etc.). Thesis Printing Charges - Coverage of expenses for typing or printing the thesis for postgraduate students. > Mode of Disbursement > Direct transfer to the beneficiary’s bank account or payment through the institution. Students are advised to get the Aadhaar Seeding done in their Bank account before applying for the scholarship. > Frequency of Disbursement > Monthly maintenance allowances and reimbursement of other fees on a semester/annual basis. > Validity > Scholarships are valid only for the duration of the recognized course in a recognized institution.
