Educational Allowances to the Children of Widows
About This Scheme
Launched in 2010, the scheme âEducational Allowances to the Children of Widowsâ by the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Pondicherry, was introduced to provide financial assistance for the education of poor widows' children up to higher secondary or equivalent. Through this scheme, an annual amount ranging from â¹25 to â¹125 is given based on the student's standard.
Eligibility
- The applicant should be a citizen of India. - The applicant should be a native of the Union Territory of Pondicherry by birth or continuous residence for not less than 3 years. - The applicant should be a widow. - The annual income of the applicant should not exceed â¹24,000. - The child of the applicant should be a Student. - The child of the applicant should have obtained not less than 50% marks in every class.

Financial assistance ranging from â¹25 to â¹125 for the purchase of textbooks, notebooks, etc.
