Widow Pension-West Bengal
About This Scheme
In 2010, the West Bengal state government, through the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department, launched a compassionate initiative called the "Widow Pension" scheme. This program aims to provide financial support to widows facing economic hardship within the state.
Eligibility
1. The beneficiary must be widow girl/woman. 1. The beneficiary should attain the age of 60 years or more. 1. The beneficiary must be a citizen of India and a resident of West Bengal. 1. The beneficiary family income must not exceed ₹ 1,000/- per month. 1. The beneficiary must not be maintained by any of her relative. 1. The beneficiary must have been a resident of West Bengal for at least ten years on the date of making the application. 1. Professional beggars and mendicants are not eligible for the pension.
Benefits
- Financial Assistance: An amount of ₹1,000/- per Month through DBT mode to the beneficiaries.
