About This Scheme
Launched on 15th August 1995, the "Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme" is a welfare scheme by the Social Welfare Department, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The scheme provides ₹1,000/- per month to widows aged 40 and above from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. The pension is funded 70% by the Centre and 30% by the Union Territory.
Eligibility
1. The applicant should be a resident of Jammu and Kashmir. 1. The applicant should be a widow. 1. The widow's age should be 40 years or older. 1. The widow should belong to a Below Poverty Line (BPL) family. 1. The applicant should not be receiving pension benefits under any other social security scheme.
Benefits
The widow will receive a monthly pension of ₹1,000/-.
