About This Scheme

The โ€œJeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awardsโ€ scheme launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The scheme aims to recognize acts of bravery and humanity in saving lives during emergencies such as accidents, fires, drowning, disasters, and attacks. Under this scheme, medals, certificates, and financial allowances are provided to individuals who demonstrate exceptional courage in life-saving situations.

Eligibility

1. The applicant should be any individual from any field of life 1. The applicant should have performed a life-saving act involving courage and risk 1. The applicant should have acted in emergencies such as fire, drownings, accidents, disasters, etc. 1. The applicant may belong to armed forces, police, CAPFs, fire services, or civilians 1. The applicant can be recommended posthumously

Types of Awards - Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak โ€“ For most conspicuous bravery involving extreme risk to life - Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak โ€“ For bravery and promptness in serious risk situations - Jeevan Raksha Padak โ€“ For courage and promptness in life-saving acts involving injury risk Tangible Benefits - Medal (As Per Category) โ€“ A distinguished medal is awarded based on the level of bravery demonstrated. - Certificate of Recognition โ€“ An official certificate acknowledging the act of gallantry is provided. - Financial Allowance (As Per Government Norms) โ€“ A monetary allowance is granted as per rules prescribed by the government of india. - National-Level Recognition โ€“ The awardee receives nationwide recognition for their courageous act. - Posthumous Award Provision โ€“ The award can also be conferred posthumously to honor deceased rescuers. Mode of Disbursement - The medal and certificate are presented physically during the official award ceremony. - The awards are conferred once every year. - The awards are presented after approval by the president of India. - The award is a one-time recognition granted for a specific act of bravery.
