About This Scheme

The “Kalpana Chawla Chatravriti Yojana” has been launched in 2012–13 by the Government of Himachal Pradesh in honour of the late astronaut Kalpana Chawla. The scheme has been implemented by the Education Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The scheme has been introduced to provide financial assistance to girl students from economically weaker sections, enabling them to pursue higher education without financial burden. It has been made applicable to eligible girl students who are permanent residents of Himachal Pradesh and are studying in recognized institutions within the state, with the objective of helping them achieve their career goals and become self-reliant.

Eligibility

1. The applicant must be a resident of Himachal Pradesh. 1. The applicant must be a girl. 1. The applicant must be a regular student of 10+2, academic, professional or technical course in Science/Arts/Commerce stream. 1. The institution where the applicant is admitted must be a Government / Government Aided / Private School affiliated with the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education. 1. The scholarship is available for higher education courses, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional courses. 1. The scholarship will be given strictly on 10+2 merit declared by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala.

Benefits

- The scholarship provides ₹18,000 per annum, which will be directly credited to the beneficiary’s bank account.
