About This Scheme
The scheme “Organising Sports Competitions and Training Camps” was launched by the Department of Sports, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote sports at the grassroots and state levels by providing structured training, organizing competitions, and developing sporting talent.
Eligibility
1. The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand. 1. The applicant must be a player aged 8 to 16 years. 1. In the case of amateur players, the applicant must be above 16 years of age.
Benefits
- The department conducts local training camps in all districts for various sports, including football, athletics, boxing, volleyball, hockey, badminton, cricket, wrestling, kho-kho, karate, kabaddi, wushu, taekwondo, basketball, handball, ju-jitsu, table tennis, lawn tennis, baseball, and sepaktakraw, with training provided at minimal fees. - The department operates Sports Colleges and Sports Hostels for sports such as football, athletics, boxing, volleyball, hockey, badminton, judo, and cricket, with admission provided at minimal fees. - A prize of ₹ 500/- is awarded for securing first position and ₹ 300/- for securing third position in state-level sports competitions.
