About This Scheme
The "Mukhyamantri Nahri Kendra" was launched by the Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims to empower tribal women by providing them with livelihood opportunities through women-run centers. These centers promote the sale of tribal dishes and home-made products, thereby improving income and living standards. Under this scheme, tribal women-run groups receive a subsidy covering 50% of project costs and the remaining 50% as a loan at a concessional interest rate.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a woman. - The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Tribe category. - The applicant must be residing in a tribal area. - The applicant must be engaged in or willing to establish a self-employment venture through a Nahri Kendra.
Benefits
> Monetary Benefit - 50% of the project cost or ₹5,00,000, whichever is less, provided as subsidy. - The remaining 50% of the project cost is provided as a loan. > *Subsidy Disbursement* - Given in two installments – 60% in the first installment and 40% in the second installment. > *Interest Rate* - Loan at 4% per annum. > *Repayment* - Loan (excluding subsidy) must be repaid in 20 equal installments over 5 years, including interest. - Option to repay earlier is allowed. > *Beneficiary Contribution* - No upfront contribution required from the beneficiary.
