About This Scheme
The scheme "Documentation And Research Assistantship Scheme" was launched by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to encourage documentation and digitisation of valuable Tiatr-related materials such as manuscripts, photos, handbills, advertisements, newspaper or magazine clippings, video and audio recordings that are with Tiatr artistes, tiatr lovers and institutions, addressing the high degree of risk that some of these materials may be lost to posterity if efforts are not undertaken to preserve and document them. The scheme provides assistance to possessors of Tiatr-related materials to organize and document their holdings.
Eligibility
> *For Material Holders* - The applicant must be a possessor of materials related to Tiatr such as manuscripts, photos, handbills, advertisements, newspaper or magazine clippings, video and audio recordings. - The applicant must indicate willingness to permit and facilitate documentation and organization tasks. > *For Documentation Assistants* - The applicant must be willing to serve as Documentation Assistant. - The applicant must be capable of performing tasks including compilation and organisation of materials, typing or word-processing of textual materials, scanning and converting by Optical Character Recognition, conversion of images by scanning or photographing with digital camera, and converting video or audio recordings from analogue to digital format.
Benefits
- One-time Incentive: A reasonable amount as decided by Tiatr Academy of Goa will be paid to the holder for converting materials into electronic formats. - Hourly Honorarium: Documentation assistants will be paid an honorarium on clock-hour basis as determined by Tiatr Academy of Goa. - Reimbursement: Tiatr Academy of Goa will reimburse costs incurred towards conversion according to rates determined by it if services of other agencies become necessary. - Assistance provided to organize and document materials in holdings. - Copy of digitised material provided to the holder on Digital Versatile Disc or Pen-drive. - Professional documentation and preservation services. > *Conditions* _*The work done must be certified by the holder of the material._ _*Tiatr Academy of Goa will periodically review the work undertaken and accordingly extend or curtail the assistantship._ _*Holders must indicate willingness to permit and facilitate documentation tasks._
