About This Scheme
'The Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme' was launched by the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. The scheme aims to provide a pension of ₹1,000/- to destitute people of 60 years and above belonging to households below the poverty line. The scheme also provides one free saree to females, one free dhoti to males during Pongal and Deepavali, and free rice in the Anganwadi Centres.
