Silicosis Financial Assistance Scheme

About This Scheme

Launched in 2006, the scheme "Silicosis Financial Assistance Scheme" by the Gujarat Rural Workers Welfare Board, Labour and Employment Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to provide financial assistance to the heirs of self-reliant persons carrying on occupation of Akik who suffer from the serious disease of silicosis in the state, addressing the occupational health hazards faced by workers in the Akik industry. The scheme provides financial assistance of ₹1,00,000/- to the heirs of affected workers as a security measure and compensation for the occupational disease. The applicant must be the heir of a self-reliant person who was engaged in Akik occupation and died due to silicosis disease in Gujarat state. The scheme is implemented by Gujarat Rural Workers Welfare Board under Labour and Employment Department. The applications for this scheme are accepted through the prescribed process.

Eligibility

- The applicant must be the legal heir of a deceased person who was engaged in Akik occupation. - The applicant must be the heir of a self-reliant person who carried on occupation of Akik in Gujarat state. - The applicant must be the heir of a person who died due to serious disease of silicosis. - The applicant must be the heir of a worker whose death occurred due to occupational silicosis while engaged in Akik work. - The applicant must establish the occupational nature of the silicosis disease in relation to Akik work.

Benefits

Financial Assistance: ₹1,00,000/- (one lakh rupees) per case. Purpose: Financial assistance to heirs of deceased workers who died due to silicosis. Nature: One-time payment as compensation.
