Widow Re-marriage Scheme

About This Scheme

The Widow Remarriage Scheme under the Government of Himachal Pradesh aims to support the rehabilitation of widows by encouraging men to marry widows through a monetary incentive. Under this scheme, a grant is provided to bona fide Himachali men (above 21 years) and women (above 18 years) at the time of marriage.

Eligibility

1. The widow should have remarried. 1. The applicant should be a resident of Himachal Pradesh. 1. Groom should not be less than 21 years of age 1. Women should not be less than 18 years of age.

Benefits

If any widow re-marries, a cheque of ₹ 20,000/- is given to the women and a Fix Deposit worth ₹ 30,000/- for the 5 years term is given to the couple.
