West Bengal Transport Workersâ Social Security Scheme: Family Pension
About This Scheme
The âWest Bengal Transport Workersâ Social Security Scheme: Family Pensionâ by the Labour Department, is aimed at ensuring financial support for the families of unorganized transport workers in the state. Beneficiaries, upon retirement or unfortunate demise, will have 50% of their last drawn amount transferred monthly to their families through a Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
Eligibility
1. The applicant must be between 18 and 60 years of age at the time of enrolment. 1. The applicant must be an unorganized worker employed in the operation of commercial vehicles, such as cars, taxis, luxury taxis, light commercial vehicles, vans, auto-rickshaws, tempos, lorries, trucks, or buses. 1. The applicantâs vehicle must be used for commercial purposes and not solely for personal or family use. > Note: A nominee/ dependent of a beneficiary shall be entitled for the benefits.
Benefits
- Monthly Family Pension: 50% of the amount last drawn by the beneficiary.
