About This Scheme

The scheme “Silkworm Rearing Chamber” was launched by the Department of Sericulture, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote sericulture and enhance silk production among farmers by providing financial assistance for establishing dedicated silkworm rearing chambers.

Eligibility

1. The beneficiary must be a resident of Uttarakhand. 1. The beneficiary must have availed assistance under the Silk Tree Plantation Scheme. 1. The beneficiary must have at least 300 mulberry plants available for silkworm rearing.

Benefits

Under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹1,00,000/- is provided for the construction of a silkworm rearing chamber on an 80:10:10 cost-sharing basis. The farmer contributes ₹10,000/- for completing the foundation of the chamber, while the state government provides ₹90,000/- as a subsidy in two equal installments.
