About This Scheme

The scheme "Financial Assistance for Education to the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers – Pre & Post-Matric" was launched by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. The scheme aims to provide educational scholarships to the children of Beedi, Iron Ore, Manganese & Chrome Ore, Limestone, Dolomite, Mica, and Cine workers. The scheme provides annual financial assistance ranging from ₹1,000/- to ₹25,000/- directly to the beneficiaries via Direct Benefit Transfer. The applicant must be studying in a recognized institution and meet the stipulated parental occupation and income thresholds. The applications for this scheme are accepted online through the National Scholarship Portal.

Eligibility

- Either of the parents of the students should be Beedi, Iron Ore Manganese & Chrome Ore Mines, Limestone & Dolomite Mines, Cine worker with at least six months service. This also includes Contract/Gharkhata (Home Based) workers also.- Total monthly Income of the Worker's family from all sources should not exceed as under: 1. Beedi Workers: Rs.10,000/-1. Mine Workers: a) The Mine workers doing manual, unskilled, highly skilled and clerical work are eligible for availing all facilities under different welfare schemes of Labour Welfare Organization irrespective of the wages paid to them. b) The persons employed in supervisory and managerial capacity are eligible for availing the facilities under different welfare schemes subject to the wage limit of Rs.10,000/- per month. facilities under different welfare schemes of Labour Welfare Organization irrespective of the wages paid to them. c) Cine workers - "An amount not exceeding Rs.8,000/- per month where such amount is paid monthly or an amount not exceeding Rs.1,00,000/- where it is paid by way of lump sum or instalments; as remuneration of a cine worker for the purpose of this Act. - The Applicant must have passed the last qualifying examination in first attempt. However, Students promoted to the next class are also eligible to apply for the above scholarships. - Candidates for the award of scholarships should have taken regular admission for studies at recognized institutions in India in any course of general or technical education, including medical, engineering and agricultural studies. - The Educational Institute must be Government/Government Recognized Institute. - The Scholar should have separate bank account. In case of Joint Account, the first name should be of the Scholar. - More than one child of the same worker also should furnish separate bank account number. - Each Scholar is required to furnish separate Mobile Number.

Benefits

*Financial Assistance Rates* - Class I to IV (for the purchase of dress/books, etc.): ₹1,000/- per annum. - Class V to VIII: ₹1,500/- per annum. - Class IX: ₹2,000/- per annum. - Class X: ₹2,000/- per annum. - Class XI to XII: ₹3,000/- per annum. - ITI: ₹6,000/- per annum. - Polytechnic: ₹6,000/- per annum. - Degree Courses (including B.Sc. Agriculture): ₹6,000/- per annum. - Professional Courses: ₹25,000/- per annum. *Mode of Disbursement:* The benefits under the scheme are transferred through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
