About This Scheme

The “Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme-Bihar” is designed to support students from disadvantaged communities by covering their educational expenses for post-secondary courses. The scholarship is intended for students belonging to categories from Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC). This initiative promotes access to higher education and helps reduce the financial burden on families from these communities.

Eligibility

1. The applicant should be a permanent resident of Bihar state. 1. The caste of the applicant should be included in the list of Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class issued by the state government. 1. The applicant should be studying in higher classes after passing the Matriculation/Entry Examination. 1. The family’s annual income must not exceed the below-mentioned limit: - Extremely Backward Classes (EBC): ₹2,50,000/-. - Other Backward Classes (OBC): ₹3,00,000/-. 1. The scholarship will be awarded to only two (2) sons of the applicant's parents. This rule will not apply to daughters.

Benefits

- Scholarship and maintenance allowance will be payable on the basis of the criteria prescribed in the resolution issued by the Government of India from time to time.
